osteopathy

It involves treatment from a holistic point of view. Osteopathy is a discipline of diagnosing and curing which has been in use for more than a hundred years. Its main principle is based on treating the human body as a whole, in which mutually interdependent processes take place.

Focusing on the human body as an integrated whole, the osteopathic examination is conducted to find primary dysfunctions. Such a holistic approach cannot focus only on a selected body part but should be much broader. As a result, a therapist can establish the root cause of a problem, which may not seem to have anything to do with dysfunctions.
The therapy itself combines broader areas of activity (viscerocranium). It is reinforced by the vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medicine.
Osteopathy uses natural abilities of our body to boost its regenerative and rebuilding processes. Treatment has a positive impact on the quality and functioning of all tissues and body systems, which in turn improves immunology and increases regenerative processes, that is the body’s capability to restore and heal itself. It isn’t an alternative form of treatment but an excellent supplement to academic medicine.

RULES OF OSTEOPATHY

1

unity

Our body forms a whole, human body should be regarded as an entity unified in terms of health and function.

2

interdependence

Single body parts and functions fulfilled by them are biomechanically dependent on each other.

3

homeostasis

Our body can regulate and heal itself as well as maintain equilibrium. Osteopathy emphasises the body’s natural powers which may be stimulated.

4

universality

The rule of the artery is supreme. Osteopathy promotes the importance of an unimpaired blood circulation. Blood is the life-giving liquid, transporting nutrients and oxygen to and toxic substances from the body.

FOR WHOM?

A holistic approach to the human body provides the osteopathic medicine with vast possibilities of examination and treatment.
